7 Futuristic Watches That We’d All Love to Own

One thing that everyone always needs to know is what time it is. Many people wear a wristwatch to give them this information. This rather low-tech way of telling the time has been in use since the early 20th century, and before that people used pocket watches or timepieces.

But we are living in the 21st century now, so surely there has got to be some way cooler wrist watch designs? TrendnStyles have some lovely looking watches on their blog, but this is TechExclusive, we wanted to get all technical on you as usual… We check out 7 futuristic watches that we would all love to own some day!

The Faceless Watch

This futuristic faceless watch by Hammacher Schlemmer has four cleverly hidden LCDs (Liquid Crystal Displays) which blend into the watch’s stainless steel links. The upper LCD row displays the hour and the lower LCD row displays the minute. With the press of a button, you can very easily switch the view to day and month.

The TechAffect Colour Arc Watch

The TechAffect Colour Arc watch is futuristic, yet blends in a very retro feel to its design! With 29 bright multi-colour LEDs bulbs, this watch offers you an alternative and very futuristic way of telling the time, day and month. Sporting an adjustable brightness control, you can even set it to automatically light up your watch every 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 minutes – that is so awesome!

The MB&F HM4 Thunderbolt Watch

Taking a little over 3 years for its makers to develop, this aviation-inspired HM4 Thunderbolt Watch is very futuristic and unique! Boasting over 300 individual components, it has not one but two dials; one displays the time, and the other tells you how much power your battery has left!

The Phosphor Touch Time Digital Watch

Originally developed with funding through Kickstarter, the Phosphor Touch Time was created with an aim to revolutionise the digital wristwatch market.

Being a touchscreen watch, it feels very much like a smartphone, with a number of apps available to its wearer – an alarm, stopwatch, reminder, world time, calendar, calculator, and even an astrological app!

THE ONE Binary Turning Disc Watch

THE ONE is a unisex wristwatch with a difference – instead of having traditional hour and minute hands; it uses a turning disc instead! It is made of stainless steel that has been painted green, and is waterproof up to 3 bar or 66 feet/20 metres.

The Kisai 3D Unlimited LCD Watch

Featuring a custom-designed stainless steel case and strap, the Kisai 3D Unlimited wristwatch sports a cutting-edge mirrored LCD display, time and date functions, and an electro luminescent (EL) backlight for use at night. But the cool thing about this watch is that it displays the time in 3D to you! It is available to buy in seven different colour combinations.

ZIIIRO Celeste

The ZIIIRO Celeste takes telling the time to a whole new level! It displays the time to the wearer using two transparent coloured, overlapping discs, which then create a stylish array of blue, green and yellow colours. It has a stainless steel case and strap, and is available in four different styles.
